Shanghai International Circuit, China

An Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup race winner, his high profile race-winning team-mate and a former GT Asia Series race winner with race-winning European credentials will spearhead an impressive entry into the inaugural SIC888 endurance event scheduled for Shanghai International Circuit on October 7.
A multiple race-winner in the popular one-make Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup this season, Bhurit Bhirombhakdi – the 2017 Am Cup champion – has emerged as one of Audi’s rising stars this season in the Singha Plan-B by Absolute Audi, a season which also includes cameo appearances in some of the region’s top GT championships.
Alongside fellow Thai and long-time partner Kantasak Kusiri, a pairing which took the GTC victory in the hotly contested 2016 GT Asia Series before claiming a round win in GT Asia earlier this season, Bhirombhakdi brings great experience to the team, although in SIC888 he may need to play second fiddle to another Bhirombhakdi – older brother Piti [Todd].
Himself a multiple winner in GT Asia, and now in the Blancpain GT Series in Europe in the Pro-Am category Piti Bhirombhakdi is an experienced GT3 campaigner in his own right (Bhirombhakdi and team-mate Carlo van Dam claimed the vice-champions title in both 2017 and 2018), although he doesn’t enjoy the same luxury as his two team-mates of having turned countless laps behind the wheel of a second-generation Audi R8 LMS GT3.
Ahead of the inaugural SIC888 endurance event, Bhurit Bhirombhakdi will contest the penultimate round of the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup on Thursday and Friday where he will look to add to his three season wins (two in the Nurburgring and one at Ningbo) before stepping into the #59 Singha Plan-B by Absolute Audi on Saturday morning for SIC888 official practice and then qualifying later in the day.
